Count on running into a heady crowd heading to this show with doors opening at 6:00 pm.

St. Petersburg Police just dropped off this door-hanger. It includes multiple advisories and links for information regarding parking and other restrictions for the upcoming RNC welcome party at Tropicana Field.

It points out that Residential Parking Permits will not be exempt from the restrictions and could be subject to removal.

The 2012 Republican National Convention will be taking place in Tampa, but the GOP's big cocktail welcome party is going down at St. Petersburg's Tropicana Field. There are a number of roads that will be closed for one day or more around August 26. Don't get stuck behind more than a mile of chain-linked fence. . .

Central Coffee Facade Exposed

On Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg the demolition of a vacant building exposed this hand-painted advertisement for the former Hayward's Toy Shop.

The freshly exposed mural is on the side of Central Coffee Shoppe. An adjacent structure was carefully pulled-apart by a wrecking crew to make way for a the construction of a new bank.
